Bedtime battles — how do you handle the 7pm meltdown?

Every single night. Dinner's fine, bath's fine, then the second I say 'pyjamas' it's like a switch flips. Two hours of tears. We've tried the visual chart, the countdown timer, the calm voice. I'm out of ideas. What's actually worked for you?

What you're describing is really common at 3–4. The transition itself is the trigger, not the pyjamas. Try moving the 'announcement' earlier and making the next step a choice: 'blue pyjamas or green?' It hands back a sliver of control. Happy to go deeper in this month's masterclass.

Same here until we flipped the order — pyjamas BEFORE bath. Weirdly worked.

Solidarity. The 'one more thing' request loop is endless at ours.

Thank you all — trying the choice thing tonight. Will report back.
